Concern regarding health and health economics occupies
enormous amount of significance given the fact that
there is rising level of consciousness about the need to
have a healthy population in order to be economically
more productive. Andaman and Nicobar islands being
a Union Territory is directly under the administration
of the central government and has been pursuing the
Health Policy of the central government right since the
first health Policy was declared in the year 1983, after the
famous Alma Ata declaration and clarion call of ‘Health
for All’.
